Kenyan striker Masoud Juma has announced plans to trade the football pitch for politics.

In a statement shared alongside his manifesto and seen by Top prime, the Harambee Stars forward said his focus will be on creating opportunities for young people through training, jobs, and entrepreneurship support.
He further promised to improve infrastructure, expand access to clean water and electricity, and enhance healthcare and roads across the constituency.
The Nejmeh SC attacker also placed sports development at the heart of his agenda, saying he wants to nurture local talent while using athletics to steer the youth away from drugs and crime.
He added that empowering farmers, traders, and households will help reduce poverty and inequality in Isiolo North. Juma pledged to champion good governance, fight corruption, and push for accountability in public service. He said he will promote peace, unity, and equal rights for all, warning against tribalism in politics. “From the pitch to parliament, together we can score a better future for Isiolo North,” Juma said in his announcement.
Masoud Juma's football career, achievements The striker has represented Kenya at several international tournaments. He was part of coach Benni McCarthy’s 25-man squad for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), where Harambee Stars reached the quarterfinals in their debut appearance. Placed in a tough Group A with DR Congo, Angola, Zambia, and eventual champions Morocco, Kenya stunned many by recording wins against DR Congo and Morocco as well as a draw against Angola.
Their run earned praise across the country, with President William Ruto gifting the players hefty rewards. Each squad member received KSh 2.5 million for the results, alongside a government-supported two-bedroom affordable housing unit. Juma began his career with Shabana FC and rose to prominence with Kariobangi Sharks, where he won the 2017 Golden Boot with 18 goals. He has since featured for several clubs abroad including Esteghlal FC in Iran, Cape Town City in South Africa, Al-Jabalain in Saudi Arabia, and now Lebanese side Nejmeh SC.
With 22 caps and 8 goals for Harambee Stars since making his debut in 2017, the forward is now eyeing a different goal: a seat in parliament.
