President William Ruto has reappointed and appointed several key figures to chair and serve on boards, councils and advisory committees across various government institutions and parastatals. 

Samson Kipkoech has been reappointed as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Fund. Kipkoech, who has held the position in previous terms, is expected to continue steering the fund’s efforts to support tourism infrastructure, marketing and enterprise development in line with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda. 

Mzee Mwinyi Mzee has been appointed as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Coast Development Authority. The appointment is seen as strategic to revitalise coastal region projects focusing on infrastructure, fisheries, tourism and economic zones along the Indian Ocean corridor. 

Dr. Abdillahi Ibrahim will continue serving as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Medical Research Institute. His reappointment ensures continuity in KEMRI’s critical work on disease surveillance, vaccine research, public health innovations and international collaborations amid ongoing global health challenges. 

Sophy Nekoye Waliaula has been reappointed as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Youth Advisory Board. Waliaula’s continued leadership is expected to strengthen youth-focused policy input, entrepreneurship programmes and engagement in national development initiatives. 

Dr. Jane Langat will continue serving as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Women Enterprise Fund Advisory Board. Her reappointment reinforces the fund’s mission to provide accessible credit, business training and market linkages for women-led enterprises across the country. 

Gabriel Pulei has been reappointed as a member of the Kenya Dairy Board. Pulei’s expertise in agribusiness and dairy value chains will support ongoing efforts to modernise the sector, improve milk quality standards and expand export markets. 

John Njogu Njoroge has been appointed as Chairperson of the Kenya Film Classification Board. Njoroge takes over leadership of the board responsible for classifying films, regulating content for public consumption and promoting Kenya’s creative economy through ethical media standards. 

John Muigai Nyururu, Hariety Namwezi Zitah, Stephanie Kamene Maseki, Kipruto Kiptoo, John Osimbo, Grace Mwendwa Munjuri and Raphael Ekadeli Loperito have been reappointed as board members of the Kenya Film Classification Board. The team brings diverse experience in film production, media regulation, youth content and cultural preservation. 

James Okebiro Mageto and Ethel Nakhumicha Githirwa have been appointed to the council of Kiambu National Polytechnic, while Gilbert Kiptanui Nyongi has been reappointed as a member of the same council. The appointments aim to strengthen governance and strategic direction at one of Kenya’s leading technical training institutions. 

Pauline M. Mallo Nagila and Julius Mokogi have been appointed to the council of Kabete National Polytechnic, with Gilbert Kiptanui Nyongi reappointed as a member. The council will oversee curriculum development, infrastructure expansion and industry linkages to produce skilled workforce for the economy. 

Lt. Col. (Rtd.) Edward Cherop Kimosop has been reappointed as a member of the Advisory Committee on Military Veterans. His continued service supports rehabilitation, pension management and welfare programmes for retired military personnel. 

Mark Nderitu Muturi, Sammy Choge and Peter Kenneth Kimani have been reappointed as members of the Board of Directors of the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation. Their expertise will guide efforts to expand last-mile connectivity, promote off-grid solutions and accelerate Kenya’s transition to clean energy. 

Rancis Mugo has been reappointed as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Scrap Metal Council. Mugo’s leadership will continue to regulate the scrap metal industry, curb illegal trade and promote value addition in recycling. 

Stephen Odhiambo Anditi has been appointed as Chairperson of the Public Private Partnerships Petition Committee for a three-year term. Anne Jepkokei Cheboi, Dr. Brian Mutie Muithya, Dr. Leonard Kinyulusi and Eric Thige Muchiri have been appointed as members of the committee. The body resolves disputes arising from PPP contracts and ensures fair implementation of public-private partnerships. 

The appointments and reappointments reflect the President’s ongoing effort to strengthen governance across critical sectors including tourism, health research, youth empowerment, women enterprise development, dairy industry, film classification, technical education, military veterans’ welfare, rural electrification and public-private partnerships. 

President Ruto urged the appointees to serve with integrity and focus on delivering results that benefit ordinary Kenyans. “These institutions play vital roles in our national development,” Ruto said during the announcement. “I expect each one of you to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, accountability and innovation to advance our shared goals.” 

The appointees are expected to assume their roles immediately, with most terms running for three years renewable based on performance. The changes come at a time when the government is prioritising infrastructure, health, education, agriculture and renewable energy under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
