President William Ruto has lauded voter turnout and the strong performance of his ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party after it won all four parliamentary and county assembly seats in by-elections held on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

In a message posted on social media, President Ruto thanked residents of Isiolo South Constituency, West Kabras Ward, Muminji Ward and Evurore Ward for backing UDA in the tightly contested mini-polls, saying the results reflected confidence in the party’s vision and direction.

“Thank you Isiolo South, West Kabras, Muminji, and Evurore for standing firmly with the United Democratic Alliance in yesterday’s by-elections. We are firmly on course to building a solid national political party whose vision goes beyond generations as we move Kenya to the first world,” Ruto wrote.

He also congratulated the individual winners, expressing confidence that they would serve their constituents diligently. The victorious candidates included Tubi Mohammed in Isiolo South, where he secured a decisive lead with 7,352 votes, far ahead of his closest rival from the Jubilee Party.

In the other contests, UDA’s Duncan Muratia won comfortably in Evurore Ward, Peterson Njeru claimed the Muminji Ward seat and Elphas Kainanga Shalakha prevailed in West Kabras Ward.

The by-elections, conducted under relatively low turnout, were seen as a measure of grassroots support for both the party and the government’s agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Analysts say the clean sweep may bolster UDA’s political momentum, strengthening its narrative of sustained voter support across key regions.
