Many Kenyans have seen photos of a police officer with dreadlocks during yesterday's Saba Saba operations and rushed to make conclusions. The officer is 𝐂𝐩𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚 of the Kenya Airports Police Unit (KAPU). She is not just an officer—she is an accomplished national athlete who has proudly flown Kenya's flag on the international stage.

Celebrating Excellence Beyond Appearance

In 2023, while representing Kenya at the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (EAPCCO) Games in Rwanda, Rose won Kenya's first gold medal in the women's discus event with an outstanding performance. Her achievements highlight that talent and dedication transcend stereotypes and appearances.

Her strong physique is a result of years of discipline, training, and dedication to athletics—not anything else. Those who know her describe her as humble, respectful, soft-spoken, and down-to-earth.

As Kenyans, let us avoid judging people based on appearance alone. Let us celebrate excellence, appreciate those who represent our country with honor, and remember that our officers are human beings with diverse talents, careers, and achievements.
