Kitengela Ward has begun to witness early political activity after MCA aspirant Harrison Mwaura made a bold public appearance, riding through the streets alongside a large group of bodaboda operators in a show of grassroots support.
The vibrant procession, which drew attention from residents and traders alike, saw Mwaura engage directly with riders and members of the public, signaling his intention to vie for the Member of County Assembly (MCA) seat. The bodaboda sector, a critical economic backbone in Kitengela, appeared to rally behind his message, highlighting the growing influence of informal sector players in local politics.

Speaking during a press meeting at Irrakil Hotel in Kitengela , Mwaura emphasized the need to uplift the livelihoods of bodaboda riders, traders ,local mwananchi and the Gen Z . Mostly he addressed on Kanju Askaris who face harassment, lack of proper infrastructure, and limited access to financial support. He noted that his leadership would prioritize their welfare, describing them as “the heartbeat of Kitengela’s daily economy.”
Residents who witnessed the event expressed mixed reactions, with some praising the move as a sign of a leader willing to connect with ordinary wananchi, while others viewed it as an early campaign strategy aimed at securing a strong voter base.
