Cristiano Ronaldo has acquired a 25% stake in Spanish second-division club UD Almeria, marking his entry into club ownership. The deal was finalized through his CR7 Sports Investments company, joining the existing Saudi Arabian ownership group led by Mohamed Al Khereiji and his SMC Group.

Ronaldo, who spent nine successful seasons with Real Madrid, expressed his excitement about the move, stating, "It has been a long-time ambition of mine to contribute to football, beyond the pitch. UD Almeria is a Spanish club with strong foundations and clear potential for growth"

Almeria, currently third in the Second Division, has been under Saudi control for over six years. Al Khereiji welcomed Ronaldo's investment, praising his experience and understanding of Spanish football.

This move aligns with Ronaldo's growing interest in club ownership, having previously hinted at ambitions to influence football beyond his playing career. He also owns a stake in his Saudi club, Al-Nassr.
