Davis & Shirtliff has launched a significant water purification initiative in Kajiado West, targeting community health and sustainability. This project is part of the company's broader Improving Lives Initiative, which aims to deliver practical, long-term water solutions where they are needed most. The project was commissioned in Mosiro, involving partners like Ewangan Child Development Programme, ChildFund, and DuPont, to ensure broad community impact.
Community-Centered Water Solutions
The initiative includes the installation of a Dayliff Batteryless Solar Ultrafiltration (UF) and Reverse Osmosis (RO) system, capable of removing harmful fluoride from local water supplies. Implemented by Davis & Shirtliff's Limuru branch, this system provides safe, reliable drinking water to nearby communities, including nearly 600 students at Naning'oi Girls Boarding Primary School and Naning'oi Secondary School, greatly enhancing their health and educational environment.
Furthering its commitment, Davis & Shirtliff also established a water bottling facility named "Naning'oi Drops of Life" and an automated water dispensing station. These assets make access to safe drinking water more affordable and convenient, reinforcing the company's dedication to sustainable community development.
The project also features environmental initiatives, such as a tree-planting exercise that supports local conservation efforts. Through these comprehensive measures, Davis & Shirtliff strives to create a healthier, more sustainable future for Kajiado West residents.
As part of its pioneering work, the company continues to innovate in water and energy solutions, cementing its role as a vital contributor to community wellness and environmental health in the region.
