The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) is set to release the 2026 placement results for students seeking admission to universities, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, and teacher training colleges
The announcement is expected to be made by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba, after which successful applicants will be able to access their placement details through the KUCCPS student portal using their KCSE index numbers and personal login credentials.
Placement Based on Merit and Course Choices
According to KUCCPS, placement has been conducted in line with the Universities Act, with students assigned to institutions based on their KCSE performance, preferred course choices, programme requirements, and the available capacity in universities and colleges.
The 2026 placement exercise covers admission to public and private universities, TVET institutions, and teacher training colleges across the country.
What Students Should Do
Once the results are released, students are advised to:
Log in to the KUCCPS student portal to confirm the institution and course they have been placed in.
Download their placement or admission information where available.
Wait for their respective institutions to issue admission letters and reporting instructions.
Apply for government scholarships and student loans through the Higher Education Funding system if eligible.

The release of the placement results marks the end of months of anticipation for thousands of 2025 KCSE candidates who applied for placement into higher learning institutions. It also paves the way for universities and colleges to begin issuing admission letters as preparations for the new academic year get underway.
