In a recent announcement, SHA outlined that members who believe their contributions were inaccurately assessed can file an appeal by dialing *147# on their mobile phones. Following the prompts will guide them through the process, making it straightforward and quick.
The process involves selecting the "Kenyan Citizen" option, entering their National ID number, and choosing the "Contributions Appeal" option. Additional instructions will be provided on the screen to complete the appeal submission.
This digital approach is part of the government's broader initiative to improve access to healthcare services and streamline processes through digital platforms. The appeal mechanism mainly addresses concerns related to income assessments or contribution records, not changes to the mandatory 2.75% deduction from wages.
