Former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama is contemplating retirement from professional football due to a persistent injury. The experienced midfielder has been without a club for several months and revealed that his body may no longer be able to cope with the demands of the sport.

Wanyama, who last played for CF Montreal, announced his retirement from international football in 2021 but had hinted at a possible return. However, with his current injury woes, it seems his illustrious career may be coming to an end.

The 33-year-old midfielder has had a decorated career, playing for top clubs like Celtic, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, and CF Montreal. He captained Harambee Stars to their last Africa Cup of Nations appearance in 2019 and has 71 caps for Kenya.
