The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service has issued a notice to students who failed to apply for placement into universities and colleges within the recently concluded application period, assuring them that another opportunity will be provided. According to KUCCPS, students who did not submit their applications before the deadline should not panic, as the placement agency will reopen its application portal to fill programmes that will remain unfilled after the first placement process.
Second Application Window
The agency explained that once the initial placement exercise is completed, institutions with vacant slots will be identified and the available programmes published on the KUCCPS portal. Eligible applicants who missed the first application window will then be allowed to apply for the remaining vacancies.
KUCCPS urged affected students to regularly monitor its official communication channels for updates on the reopening dates and application procedures.
Placement Process Continues
The placement exercise is currently underway following the closure of the first application phase. During this process, KUCCPS allocates qualified candidates to degree, diploma, certificate and artisan programmes in universities, colleges and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions based on their qualifications, programme choices and available capacity.
Advice to Applicants
Students have been encouraged to keep checking the KUCCPS portal and ensure they have access to their application accounts when the second application window is announced. The agency also advised applicants to rely only on official KUCCPS communication to avoid misinformation and fraudulent individuals claiming to offer placement services.
The notice offers reassurance to thousands of eligible students who were unable to apply before the deadline, giving them another opportunity to secure placement in higher learning institutions through the national placement process.
